Here are our 10 teams who are competing for prizes of $2500, $1500 and $1000 to develop their ideas on health risk communication. 000
Star Team – The superstars of Star Team are plotting to create a website and mobile app, which will be sensitive to the huge number of languages spoken in Nigeria. They will utilize their skills in HTML, Bootstrap, PHP, Code-Igniter, Android Studio and Xamp to counter the problem of misinformation in the mass media surrounding pandemics.
TECH-E – The terrific Teche hope to make a web application to solve the issue of getting information to hard-to-reach-areas.
MATZAPP – The MATZAPP technology whizzkids will deliver a powerpoint presentation on the mobile app they propose. The programming language they intend to use to build is it Java on Android Studio.
Creative Minds – This imaginative team are planning on using the vast everyday database that is Google Maps along with HTML in order to solve the problem of community engagement across Nigeria.
Wakanda – This team of movie stars is a diverse group who are looking to solve the problems of maintaining healthy behaviours during an outbreak. They intend to use their powers to create an app that they hope will save lives.
E-Info Team – This dynamic group are going to be tackling the lack of sensitization to modern health knowledge in rural communities. They’ll be utilizing the power of c#, Visual Studio, and more, which they hope will save lives should an outbreak occur in West Africa.
Alexa for Health – This large team has decided to focus on making sure the public are able to find out where they can access healthcare in an emergency. They will use a mobile app, SSD codes (SMS code service for areas where many people don’t have access to the internet) and toll free information phone lines.
Geo-Spatial ERC for Emergencies and Epidemics (GERCEE) – The forward-thinking Geo-spatial crew have got huge plans up their sleeve so we won’t give too much away. The problem they will be focusing on is the lack of two way coordination and risk info sharing among ministries, agencies and individuals.
